Have you participated the past few weeks in the Mental Health Course of the University of Liverpool? Do you have some time for an online interview associated with your motivations towards the assessment exercises of this course?
My PhD Project is focused on exploring the assessment process of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and particularly on learners’ motivations on completing the assessment exercises. I am therefore investigating in what ways common assessment practices reflect learners’ goals and what learners’ experiences of self-regulated learning in MOOCs are.
I would like to discuss with you your experience of quizzes and peer-assessed assignments in the Mental Health course and then ask you to complete a questionnaire. The study will run from the 28 May- 6 June and I would like to talk to six students regarding their experiences.
As a learner of the course you are in a position to give me your own perspective on the assessment process of the course even if you have not (entirely) completed the exercises. People who participate in the course and work in Health Care or similar areas would be preferred but this is not essential.
Interviews will last 30-45 min. and will be online, by writing, via the Facebook Chat. The questionnaire takes around 10-15 min. to complete.
Your participation will be a valuable addition to my research and findings will give an insight of learners’ motivations on assessment that will assist on potentially more effective assessment designs in future MOOCs.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
